What metal brings to a gate

The bars are spaced closely enough that a small dog cannot squeeze through, and the frame is welded at the corners rather than stapled. That construction is why these gates are often chosen for stairs and doorways where the gate stays mounted and gets used every day. The tradeoff against wood is that metal shows scratches and dents more readily, and it clangs if a dog hits it.
